1. Pokémon Card Fan Club Eevee

If I had to choose one vintage Japanese Eevee as the ultimate collector’s card, this would be near the top of my list.

The Pokémon Card Fan Club Eevee was distributed in Japan through the Pokémon Card Fan Club’s GET Points reward program. Collectors needed 500 GET Points to obtain it, making it very different from a card pulled from a regular booster pack.

The card features artwork by Toshinao Aoki and the Pokémon Power Chain Reaction. Its limited distribution and strong collector demand have made it one of the most desirable vintage Eevee cards.

It is important to distinguish this card from the English Wizards Black Star Promo #11. Although both feature Eevee, the English promo uses different artwork.

Because this card required 500 points to obtain, it is a particularly interesting target for collectors who focus on rare Japanese promotional releases rather than ordinary set cards.

2. JR Stamp Rally 2000 Eevee

The JR Stamp Rally 2000 Eevee is another fascinating promotional card. It was awarded to participants who completed the Gold Course of the JR East Pokémon Stamp Rally held in August 2000.

One of its most unusual features is that it was distributed in Japan but uses an English-language card design. The card is non-holo and features the same artwork as the English Wizards Black Star Promo #11, which was distributed through Pokémon League events.

The Japanese Stamp Rally version and the English Pokémon League version are closely related, but they are not identical in finish or distribution history. For collectors who specialize in unusual Japanese releases, this distinction is part of the appeal.

Market references for this card have placed raw copies around $160–$170, while PSA 10 examples have been around $425–$800. These are approximate reference values, not guaranteed sale prices. Condition, grading, and recent demand can make a significant difference.

3. Expansion Sheet Eevee

The Expansion Sheet Eevee is a particularly interesting card for collectors who enjoy unusual Japanese releases.

Japan’s Expansion Sheet series included cards sold through vending machines. These cards have a distinctive glossy finish and rarity symbols, giving them a different appearance from many regular expansion set cards.

Eevee appeared in the Blue Version of the Expansion Sheet series. Related versions were also included in the Japanese Quick Starter Gift Set, where the cards have a matte finish and lack the rarity symbols found on their Expansion Sheet counterparts.

For collectors, finding a card with similar artwork is not enough. You also need to check the card’s finish and details to identify the correct version.

This is a great option for collectors who enjoy comparing different Japanese card formats and identifying subtle differences between related releases.

4. Premium File 2 Eevee

The Eevee from Premium File 2 is another important card for vintage collectors. Premium File products offered a different way to collect Pokémon cards outside the standard booster pack format.

Compared with the Expansion Sheet Eevee, this version belongs to a different release and has its own place in a complete Eevee collection.

One interesting point is that the number of high-grade examples does not necessarily reflect how many copies originally circulated. Collectors should distinguish between overall distribution and the number of surviving cards in excellent condition.

If you are comparing vintage Eevee cards, this release is worth checking alongside the Expansion Sheet version rather than treating every similar-looking card as the same release.

5. Lt. Surge’s Eevee

Lt. Surge’s Eevee, known in Japanese as マチスのイーブイ, belongs to the vintage Gym series.

Unlike regular Eevee cards, this one is associated with a specific Trainer. That makes it particularly appealing to collectors building complete Gym Leader collections or collecting every vintage card featuring Eevee.

For collectors who prefer character-themed cards, Lt. Surge’s Eevee offers something different from the promotional cards above. It is also a natural addition to a collection focused on the Japanese Gym expansions.

6. Neo Eevee

The Neo-era Eevee is another card worth including in a vintage collection. While it does not have the same promotional status as the Pokémon Card Fan Club or JR Stamp Rally cards, it represents a different stage in the history of the Japanese Pokémon TCG.

For collectors who want a complete set of vintage Eevee artwork and releases, ordinary set cards are just as important as the headline promotional cards.

7. Team Rocket Eevee and Jungle Eevee

The Team Rocket and Jungle Eevee cards round out the collection with two more classic vintage releases.

These cards are useful starting points for collectors who want to build a broader Eevee collection without immediately focusing on the more expensive promotional cards.

Even common vintage cards can become surprisingly difficult to find in excellent condition. As interest in old Japanese Pokémon cards grows, collectors increasingly pay attention to artwork, condition, and subtle differences between releases.

My Personal Vintage Eevee Rarity Ranking

Based on my personal collecting experience, I would rank these cards in the following order of collectibility. This is a subjective ranking, not an official rarity classification or a definitive measure of market value.

  1. Pokémon Card Fan Club Eevee — a highly desirable points-reward promotional card.
  2. JR Stamp Rally 2000 Eevee — a distinctive non-holo English-language card distributed in Japan.
  3. Expansion Sheet Eevee — a unique vending machine release with a glossy finish and rarity symbol.
  4. Premium File 2 Eevee — an important alternative release for collectors completing their Eevee collection.
  5. Lt. Surge’s Eevee — an appealing Gym-era Trainer’s Pokémon card.
  6. Neo Eevee — a classic card from the later vintage era.
  7. Team Rocket Eevee and Jungle Eevee — essential cards for a broad vintage Eevee collection.

For me, there is a noticeable gap between the first two cards and the rest of the list. Their special distribution histories make them particularly interesting compared with ordinary set releases.

Of course, rarity depends on what you are measuring: original distribution, surviving condition, graded population, or current market availability. Different collectors may reasonably rank these cards differently.

How to Find Vintage Japanese Eevee Cards

When searching for vintage Japanese Eevee cards, try using the specific release name rather than searching for Eevee alone. Search terms such as Pokemon Card Fan Club Eevee, JR Stamp Rally 2000 Eevee, and Japanese Expansion Sheet Eevee can help narrow down the results.

Before buying, check the card’s language, surface, edges, and condition. For graded copies, compare the grading company, grade, and recent completed sales rather than relying only on the seller’s asking price.

Use the search below to compare different vintage Japanese Eevee cards in one place.

Final Thoughts

There are many ways to collect vintage Eevee cards, from affordable set releases to highly sought-after promotional cards.

My personal favorites are the Pokémon Card Fan Club Eevee and the JR Stamp Rally 2000 Eevee. Both have distinctive distribution histories that make them stand out from regular expansion set cards.

Which vintage Eevee is your favorite? And would you rank the Pokémon Card Fan Club Eevee above the JR Stamp Rally version, or the other way around? I’d love to hear other collectors’ opinions.
